China flooding.....
๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ ๐ณ๐น๐ผ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด.... | At least 27 million people have been affected, including more than 2.24 million who have had to evacuate, 28,000 homes destroyed and 141 people have died or are missing since heavy rainfalls from early June.

Worries arise that this disaster is a repeat of the 1998 floods which affected an estimated fifth of Chinaโs population. About 15 million people lost their homes and millions of farmers lost land and crops with an estimated 4,000 people killed at that time.
433 rivers in China have crossed the danger mark with 33 of them rising to historical heights, worst-hit provinces are Jiangxi, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hubei, Hunan, and Sichuan. More flooding is expected in downstream provinces such as Zheijiang, Anhui and Jiangsu.
Looking at the 1998 floods, the disaster might continue until the end of summer. Although China is no stranger to floods having the major Asian river sources in the homeland, did you know that #Wuhan (yes COVID-19 Wuhan) was victim in 1931 to one of the worst floods in Chinese history ? More about this in a next post.
