China high-tech | Solar energy driven unmanned aircraft (UAV) successful maiden flight end of last month in Deqing County, Zhejiang Province.

Chinese aircraft manufacturer OXAI Aircraft Co. has been developing MOZI 2 for 2 years, a fully solar-powered unmanned aircraft for assistance in disaster relief situations, mobile communication and reconnaissance missions.

MOZI 2 has a wingspan of 15 meters and is powered solely by solar cells. It can reach an altitude of 8,000 meters, with a maximum cruise time of 12 hours at night following eight hours of charging in sunlight.
