From running out of yeast to making steamed buns together...

𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 包子 𝘣𝘢𝘰𝘻𝘪 (𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘶𝘯𝘴) 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 😊.
Yesterday we planned to make baozi but found out we did not have any yeast anymore. As we are facing a ‘light’ lock down in our compound, we asked our friends a few buildings down the compound road if they still had some yeast. This ended making wonderful baozi together in the evening filled with meat and the delicious first baby spring leaves of the Chinese cabbage from our organic village garden which we brought back last week.
We are facing a compound lock down to protect residents from a few cases which have been detected in the district surroundings of the residence complex. A ‘light’ lock down since Wednesday night, not being able to leave or enter the complex though being able to freely walk around and the kids enjoying to play with the water or pick flowers in the small park inside the compound. And eating delicious baozi together with fellow residents 😊
We are being tested every day, if a case would be detected inside the compound, this would probably lead to a stricter lock down confined to staying inside at home. So cross fingers !
Wishing everyone lots of strength and resilience who are in strict lock downs, not being able to leave their homes for days or weeks now.
