Great hearts in Changsha, Hunan province.....

Bach’s bakery tucked away in an alley in Changsha City, capital of Hunan province in south-central China. Managed by a German couple since 2011, their staff mostly consists of deaf mute young people, giving them a chance to learn the baker profession and naturally providing a job. A wonderful, unique and initiative and example for humanity.

When I see them communicating in sign language, it suddenly popped up in my mind if sign languages in different countries are similar or very different. It might be a great opportunity for people to learn in schools all over the world for cross-cultural communication. Unfortunately this is not the case, although some sign languages are quite compatible, for others people practically cannot understand each other.

Let’s hope that technology developments such as AI and 5G will keep on advancing in the cross-cultural communication possibilities between people all over the world as a better respect and acceptance through understanding and communication among each other is so crucial for a better world and future.
