Interesting thoughts in a local hospital...

Last Friday in one of the local district public hospitals for a minor schoulder injury which kept bugging me for a few days too long 😊. Hospital visits are usually a smooth and efficient process, it might take some time if there are many people but this afternoon we were in and out in a little over an hour.

Some knowledge of Chinese would come in handy but signs in the hospitals are everywhere bilingual and quite some doctors speak English as well.

Most of the process is digital except your number and the ultrasound picture. The insurance card handles the rest of the transactions from consult to medicines and you can pay digitally by wechat or alipay on one of the many machines around.

Doctor consult, ultrasound pictures, Traditional Chinese Medicine herbal skin patches and Western painkillers; total damage about RMB 400 (little more than EURO 50). Generally covered by the national medical insurance but fortunately have not yet reached my personal deductible limit.

Two bonuses : nice thoughts on education written by doctors and nurses on a paper in the ultrasound room, both in English and Chinese, and a cozy coffee shop in the entrance hall 😊

Naturally and fortunately, the Beijing covid app and face masks are mandatory.
