My better half is ready for her Tiger year...

My better half is ready for her Chinese zodiac year of birth or 本命年 Běnmìngnián...

One week away from the 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿, she is well-prepared for her special year, being a Tiger.

While people might think that your Chinese zodiac year will be a good one full of celebrations, it is quite the contrary. People in their zodiac year are 𝘃𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗱 𝗹𝘂𝗰𝗸.

The mythology is that people will 犯太岁 (fàn tàisuì , ‘offend Tai Sui’) in their zodiac year. Tai sui initially referred to a star opposite of Jupiter which revolves around the Earth every 12 years, the same 12-year cycle as the Chinese zodiac signs.

It is common belief to 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗺, 𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 and to protect from any misfortunes, people 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗱, 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝘂𝗰𝗸𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿.

Zodiac year people do usually not buy their own red clothes or accessories but should be given by family or friends. Common items are red underwear, socks or waist and wrist bands, decorated with jade or gold, also strong powers to conquer negativity.
