My first love in Beijing getting alive and moving forward in a new normal……

Although we are living adjacent to one of the largest parks in Beijing along the Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal (Grand Canal Park) stretching kilometers of beautiful gardens, bicycle/walking paths, and health facilities; my first love when I arrived in Beijing more than a decade ago has been Tuanjiehu Park.

Tuanjiehu park is an urban park next to the 3rd ring road in Chaoyang district. Surrounded by high rise buildings, the scenic landscapes provide serenity, peace and coolness in the middle of the hectic central business district.

Sometimes calling it the small ‘Central Park’ of Beijing, the most unique though are all walks of life you encounter; local people dancing, singing and exercising, kids skating and swimming or young couples having their privacy on a bench.

Last Friday late afternoon I spent some time in the park for the first time this year, slowly getting alive and moving forward to a new normal. A unique place for peaceful thoughts, reflections and inspiration.

See also a small video link of people singing and relaxing in the park:
