Natural health awareness in festive traditions
Coming Thursday is Mid-Autumn Festival in China, a wonderful gathering for families originated to celebrate the harvest and prepare ourselves for wintertime. This year the festival comes on the same day as the National Day of the People’s Republic of China, October 1st, double celebrations !

The traditional food for Mid-Autumn Festival is mooncakes, traditionally filled with lotus seed or sesame pastes, salted egg yolks, nuts, seeds or dried fruits. Different regions have meat-filled mooncakes and during the last decade many innovate fillings have popped up such as durian, chocolate with spicy beef, crawfish or even foie gras with cream and truffles.
However, natural health awareness is thriving in China in many ways with health foods and supplements. We can see this back in mooncakes as well; vegan, gluten free, low carb, superfood or even TCM (traditional Chinese Medicine) mooncakes are gaining popularity during recent years. Natural health in traditional style.
Wishing you all a wonderful Mid-Autumn Festival, National Day and Golden Week ahead together with your families and loved ones !
