nostalgia... 'from boy's to uncle's band'...

Westlife's China concert livestreamed last Friday (Dec. 17) by Tencent's Wechat saw 𝟮𝟳 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘀.
For many Chinese people born in the 1980's and 1990's, Westlife's songs were their first real touch with Western music and last Friday's concert brought back dear memories for many. The concert resonated and hyped on social media last weekend with many comments and sharing memories. Apart from their golden oldies such as 'Seasons in the Sun' or 'My love', they dazzled the fans in the end singing a Chinese song 平凡之路 (the road to ordinary), originally by Chinese singer Pu Shu.

Westlife also recalled their last concert in China which was December 2019 in Beijing, a few months before the COVID pandemic started. Due to the cold weather at that time, they were provided 军大衣, the traditional thick dark green overcoats which were popular in the North of China during the 1970's and 1980's (and still common today in many rural areas). They mentioned last Friday being very grateful for these great overcoats which look like designer brands.
