Real lives matter and make China....
𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮 | Early this month we invited our 3 tennis coaches and 2 interns for a BBQ to celebrate the successful month of July with utterly hard work and long hours.
The 2 trainees are with us since about 6 weeks. Both 21 years old, they are students from a teacher institute in Jilin province (north-east China). The girl is from Gansu’s countryside in Western China and the boy’s hometown is near the Russian border in the far North. As millions of adolescents (especially from countryside), they left home since age 15-16 going intern at high middle school, after proceeding to vocational schools or university.
Our female intern's school is more than 2,000km away in a very different environment, seeing her family usually once a year.
With only a train ticket to start towards the unknown at young age, millions of youngsters in China are grateful and determined for the chance given (by family and state) to study and fight for a better life for themselves and family.
These millions of resilient tough cookies, each with their own story, fight and dream are one of the backbones of China’s growth and stability as well as for the recovery after COVID-19.
