World's smartest city | Shanghai has been chosen World Smart City 2020 during the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) in Barcelona this week.

Throughout the Shanghai Smart City Plan (2016-2020), major high-tech initiatives and systems have been rolled out with #AI, #5G (currently 80,000 stations in Shanghai), #internetofthings and #bigdata for various sectors such as infrastructure, mobility, liveability, education, environment or employment and the integrations thereof.

Together with new innovative, comprehensive operation and management models in place, Shanghai can fully anticipate on the long term commitment of becoming a more adaptable and resilient eco-city. A benchmark for international megacities in terms of sustainability and liveability.
